This is a good character as well as a victim!

Tara Martin is a character created by Andy. She appeared in the episode "The Tale of the Last Dance".

History[]

Tara lives in a town called: Warrenville. She is a compassionate and devoted classical musician and violinist. She is also a nice and sensitive person. She is friends with Scot and Jane. Her boyfriend is Michael. Although her boyfriend believes that she is talented, he finds classical music to be boring and outdated.

During the events of the story, his town's old big recreational center was literally beginning to fall apart. Instead of renovating the building, it was going to be torn down. In its place a new strip mall was going to be built.

During the last week, she was performing a recital playing her violin. Then she noticed that her boyfriend Michael had been asleep. Also that he seemed to bored and uninterested. Michael then suddenly took off, leaving her feeling upset and discouraged for the rest of her performance. Just as she finished, a sketching pencil fell onto her musical notes from the ceiling vent above. Everyone clapped and applauded her and she happily bowed to them.

Then on her way out, Jane and Scot congratulated her on her well done recital. She thanked them, but she was ashamed to say that she feels that she just made her boyfriend fall asleep. Her friends encouraged her not to feel bad. Just because Michael was a jerk. Later she met Jane in the cafeteria. Here they discussed the program the building was having the night before it was torn down called: "The Last Dance". Then Michael and Scot joined them.

Feeling mad, she pushed Michael away. She tells him that she assumed that he left to go work out. Michael apologized saying that he needed to go do something. Since he couldn't stand sitting down the whole time. He apologized again saying that he couldn't stand old classical music. Also he didn't believe that there was a future for her playing classical music. Michael then crumpled up a picture, she chose for "The Last Dance" advertisement flyer. Then he rudely said that she could have used a much better picture of herself. The whole time that she and her friends were talking, an unseen creature was stalking her from a ceiling vent above. Then suddenly the tiles broke and almost fall on them. Michael and Scot managed to cover she and Jane just in time.

Over In the girls' locker room, the unseen creature stalked her again. Here she reflected about all the good times she's had over the years. Then about how she was really going to miss the place. Jane said that it was just time to move on. Hearing this, she agreed that maybe it was also time to move on, from her relationship with Michael. She felt that he just didn't get how important her music was to her. When suddenly she discovered that her violin had been stolen. She looked inside the broken air vent. Now she suspected that someone must have sneaked in.

In the cafeteria, she was upset to say security couldn't do much to help her find it. She became really upset because she had her violin for years. Now it was gone. So now she could not perform at "The Last Dance" program. Michael just suggested to rent one of them. Hearing this, she got mad for him being so insensitive. Because a violin is a valuable thing. You cannot just rent them like they are bowling shoes.

That evening, the Last dance program began. She was still upset because she still had not found her violin and could not perform. Both Jane and Scot expressed their sympathy and supported her. Michael on the other hand, just wanted them to all enjoy the party and have fun. For being so insensitive, she just storms off and left and Jane came looking for.

Siting in a dark room, she felt really upset. Then she heard a sudden noise. She slowly checked the dark hallway and found out that it was an old heating register making hissing sounds. Then she heard Jane scream her head off. So she ran off to go help her. But she found nothing but a spilled puddle of red paint. Suddenly she bumped into the creature who had been stalking her. He was known as The Lurker. She was horrified and screamed her head off. The Lurker lead her underground to his hideout. When she got there she was informed that he was a mutant freak. One whom had secluded himself from the world to the underground below. She was then warned to not run away. Since it was very dangerous underground.

Looking around, she was amazed by all the beautiful sketches and drawings The Lurker had made of her. She asked him to let her leave. With the promise not to tell anyone. The Lurker nicely asked her to stay. He revealed that he had made her a surprise feast. She was too scared to eat. She just wanted to know what he wanted from her. The Lurker informed her, that for many years he had watched her from behind the walls. There he watched her grow up to become an amazingly talented young woman. The Lurker then told that he had prepared for many years to meet her. He explained that since the building would be torn down the next day, he had to bring her to him tonight. Then finally he could tell her how much he appreciated her. Because after tonight the building would be gone. Then he would never see her again. She then told him she now knew that he was the one who dropped the sketch pencil on her during her recital. The Lurker apologized for the interruption he caused.

The Lurker then returned her violin to her. She was thrilled to have it back in one piece. She was so happy that she agreed to play for him. However only if he would show her his face. The Lurker was very reluctant, because he felt that he was hideous. Then she persuaded him to. So The Lurker slowly took off his hood. It turned out that he was actually good looking (although he needed a haircut). Now she was no longer afraid of him. Now on his request she began to play Pachelbel's Canon in D Major. Which he enjoyed hearing immensely.

Meanwhile Michael was on the Lurker's trail to finding her. He was crawling through the air ventilation shaft. After she finished, The Lurker said that she played beautifully. Therefore anyone who couldn't see that was a fool. Michael just happened to be standing outside. He overheard them talking about him. Michael now felt awful when he heard The Lurker say that he didn't appreciate her and her talent. The Lurker then asked her to stay with him underground. Hearing him having the nerve to say this, she just laughed about it. Then she say that she could play all day if she did. Hearing this he gave her his word to always adore her forever.

Then suddenly The Lurker got angry and started screaming! Michael entered the area to rescue her. She tried to convince Michael that he was harmless. But Michael felt he didn't seem so harmless to him. She then heard The Lurker scream saying that no one would take her away from him. The Lurker locked her into a gate against the wall. Then Michael approached him, and tried to get him to let her go. The Lurker refused, because he didn't want her going back to someone who didn't love her and appreciate her talent. Michael threatened him to let her go immediately or else. The Lurker then ran off with the violin telling him to catch him if he could.

Michael let her out and he carefully tried to lead them back to the surface. When suddenly The Lurker ambushed them on the bridge. The Lurker snapped that he wouldn't let him take her. Then they began wrestling and pushing each other back and forth. She screamed for them to stop fighting. Then Suddenly The Lurker, tripped and fell over the bridge. Now he was hanging for his life on the railing (possibly about to fall into a bottomless pit). The Lurker, informed her that he was too heavy for her. For his last words he asked her to never give up her dreams and that he would miss her. Also that he was not afraid to die. She became really upset. So she begged Michael to help her pull him up. Michael ran up at the last second and helped pull him back up and saved him. The Lurker apologized for what he did and ran off. Then she asked Michael why he saved him. Michael returned her violin to her and said that he did it for her. She was so happy that he saved her new friend they reunited and hugged.

A little later, she returned to The Lurker hideout waiting for him to return. When he arrived he was really surprised and thrilled to see her. He had gotten upset believing that she was now gone forever. She then asked him if he would like to have the last dance with her. The Lurker was speechless and thrilled. He happily agreed, and they dance for a long period of time. Then a little later, she left and he headed off to another location.
